What perfect timing!  Chinese new year is today and one of our nominated Monarchs takes place during Chinese new year.  Of course we had to read "Goldy Luck and the Three Panadas" this week.  With this book, we were able to read another Monarch nominee, relate to current events, AND make a text to text connection to "Goldilocks and the Three Bears."   Another great book ISLMA!  This could be the winner!

This month we are focusing on the 2017 Monarch nominees in grades K-3. One of our favorites so far is "Wolfie the Bunny" by Ame Dyckman, illustrated by Zachariah OHora.   We loved the ending of this story and when we found a video of OHora teaching people how to draw Wolfie, we had to try it for ourselves. Wolfie isn't as hard to draw as we thought!

Students in Mrs. Repsis class explored Wixie for the this time this week.  I still cannot believe the results!  Not only were students able to work together to login independently but the pictures that they created while exploring the paint tools are simply astonishing.  Every year I am impressed with how quickly Kindergarten students pick up and soar with technology.  This year did not disappoint!
