Second grade students kicked off their nonfiction text feature mini unit with a Breakout EDU activity. A witch cast a spell on their projects and locked them in a box. Students had to work together to solve the clues and unlock the padlocks. The timer was set and students broke out with 2 minutes to spare! This was such an exciting experience to witness. Way to go second grade! This week our kindergarten students celebrated John Chapman's birthday with research and apple challenges. Students were introduced to my favorite database for early learners called PebbleGo! After learning about his life and how he contributed to our world, we did follow up apple activities. Be sure to ask your kindergartener which activity he/she liked the best.Amy, our library assistant, recently said, "I think we've had least a million people come in here already!" I'm not sure if we've had a million but I love that fact that we are establishing our library as "THE PLACE". Here's a peek of just some of the activities that took place this week.I think I'm ready to go viral! Please be patient while I update many of my pages to showcase the learning taking place at Congress Park. In the mean time, enjoy the fun and read about the experiences we had a Barnsdale Road School.
